Talking to MTV News, the 'Nothin' On You' singer expressed his excitement at the upcoming release and admitted that it was largely inspired by his live performances.
"Every time we go into the studio we got to think about, 'OK, we're gonna perform this song'," he explained.
"We think, 'How are we gonna keep these people's attention?' So throughout the whole song, it never stops. It keeps moving. And we always flip up our show. Whenever we do our shows, you might not hear the album version. You'll get the live version."
Doo-Wops & Hooligans will hit stores on October 5.
