The Good Charlotte rockers, who are currently in Australia to promote their new album Cardiology, said that they are very close to their parents.
Joel told The Daily Telegraph: "'There She Goes' is [written] for our mother. We hope this crazy lifestyle we chose didn't disappoint you or screw up our relationship with you because we're gone so much.
"I hope I have the same good kid karma. I want my kids to feel that way about me, that our mum feels just as close to us."
They also said: "We come to Australia too much just to hang out and party. This is what we do for a living and we didn't want to wear out our welcome."
