Teenage Dream debuts at the number one spot alongside its title track, which heads the singles chart.
Perry's last album One Of The Boys peaked at number ten.
Fight Like Apes score the second highest new entry of the week as The Body of Christ & Legs of Tina Tuner enters at number three.
Elsewhere, Imelda May's Love Tattoo jumps 30 places to number 14. The top 20 also sees new entries from Disturbed and The Pretty Reckless at 16 and 18 respectively.
