The "excited" singer confirmed that the song, which was included as an iTunes bonus track on her debut album of the same name, would be released on November 1.
Goulding has released four tracks from the number one LP, including previous single 'The Writer', which peaked at number 19 in the UK chart.
However, Goulding revealed on Twitter that 'Lights' will be the first single from a "new release", which will include more "new songs". She did not confirm if this will be a deluxe edition of her debut or a second album.
