The Pogues sell out New York gigs
Published Thursday, Dec 22 2005, 22:45 GMT | By Fiona Edwards
The Pogues have sold out three of the four nights that they will be playing at New York's new Nokia Theatre.
The shows will be the first live performances featuring Shane MacGowan, and will conclude a nine-night tour across America.
The Irish rockers are also going for the Christmas number one, with their re-release of their hit with singer Kirsty MacColl, Fairytale of New York.
Money from the single will mostly go to Crisis, but some is going to aid the Justice for Kirsty campaign, which is working to find the parties responsible for Kirsty MacColl's death in a powerboat accident in 2000.
