The all-star benefit will take place at New York City's Beacon Theatre on November 12, according to The AP.
Joining Browne and Lauper at the show will be Aimee Mann, Patti Smith and Shelby Lynne, among others to be announced in the coming weeks.
All proceeds from the concert will support 'Playing For Change', a campaign promoting peace through music.
It was previously reported that Lennon's widow Yoko Ono will hold her own tribute to the late Beatle on October 9 in Iceland.
