'For The First Time' became the band's first number one in their home country in last week's chart. The top five remains unchanged with Katy Perry, Eminem and Rihanna, Taio Cruz and Alexandra Burke all holding steady in their respective positions.
Elsewhere within the Top 10, Brandon Flowers's latest offering jumps two to number six, while Maroon 5 score this week's highest new entry with 'Misery' debuting at ten.
The use of Pixie Lott's cover of 'Use Somebody' and her guest judge appearance on The X Factor see the track re-enter the charts at number 19.
Meanwhile, The Script's 2008 number two hit 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved' benefits from their current success, charting at number 31 this week.
