The group play the Warehouse Project gig under Piccadilly Station on October 16 with support from Steve Mason, Field Music and Mike Pickering.
Speaking to NME, guitarist Jez Williams said: "It's a bit of a strange one but there are no plans for an album or a tour after this gig. It'll be our last gig for a long, long, long time, if not indefinitely.
"We've been together a long time and we're just thinking we want to do individual things and musical ventures. We're going to go down that road."
He revealed that he and his fellow bandmates are each working on solo material or planning to do so shortly.
"I've got a few people in the pipeline for guest artists, which I want to keep under wraps at the moment, but I'm still looking for people to front my project," Williams confirmed.
"It'll be nice to delve into different territory and it will definitely be more dance orientated than Doves."
All three members of Doves previously made up dance act Sub Sub, who reached number three in the singles chart with the Melanie Williams-featuring 'Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use)'.
