Earlier this week it was reported that Simpson would perform duets with Bocelli and country singer Willie Nelson for the new record.
However, E! reports that Bocelli's spokesperson has ruled the Italian opera singer out of the project.
The representative said: "We were indeed approached by her management a while
ago, but Mr Bocelli's current recording and performing schedule does not allow him to add on new engagements.
"We told Jessica's management yesterday that the duet cannot happen. But we all wish her great success with the Christmas album."
The website confirmed that Willie Nelson was still expected to contribute to the LP.
