The group have pulled out of a number of shows after drummer Jon Brookes collapsed during a gig at Philadelphia venue Johnny Brenda's last Wednesday.
"Brookes is being flown back to the UK for further treatment, although currently in a comfortable condition, and the band promise to keep everyone informed as and when the situation develops," an official statement read.
"The Charlatans are very upset at not being able to continue the tour but hope to reschedule the dates as soon as possible. Fans are advised to check the website for details about new dates."
