The group recorded the LP with with producer Jacknife Lee at the Music Shed in New Orleans and in Berlin's Hansa Studios, Billboard reports. Additional work was completed in Nashville.
Lee produced the band's last studio record Accelerate and also helmed 2009's Live at The Olympia double album.
Last year, guitarist Peter Buck explained that he and bassist Mike Mills had broken their usual habit and recorded several demos for the as-yet-untitled album, which is due for release in 2011.
