Speaking to MTV, the singer explained that the late rocker's "psychedelic" nature informed the feel of the show that he is aiming to accomplish.
"It's a really stunning setup, heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix. Not necessarily in any set that he designed, but more so his music and his vibe," he said.
"It's called the 'Light Dreams and Nightmares' tour - it's very psychedelic. It's very much based on day and night, like times of day, and I carry you through a full day in the show. It's really cool, and I'm enjoying it. It's great to have those elements."
Drake's 'Light Dreams and Nightmares' national tour began on September 20 in Miami and will end on November 6 in Las Vegas.
