Berrabah: "I'm going rock bottom again"

Amelle Berrabah has responded to news of her recent drink drive charge.

It was reported earlier today that the Sugababe has been charged with driving with excessive alcohol after an alleged fight with boyfriend Tom Benn.

Berrabah has since confirmed the charge on her Twitter page, but admitted that she was "angry" at how the press have twisted the story.

"I can't believe what's being said! I'm so sad this has happened to me," she wrote.

"I got up to do my normal 6am jog you guys know this as I twitter about it all the time! I'd been out the night before for drinks with friends and got stopped on the way to meet my personal trainer and it was obviously still in my system.

"I'm so angry with myself I felt fine and had a coffee. Why do papers always write horrid stuff on me I feel like I'm going rock bottom again (sic)."

Berrabah will appear on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on October 8.
