The singer, whose new single is called 'Gotta Be Somebody', said that he hopes Gary Barlow will consider the offer after he recently revealed that Ward was considered as a replacement for Jason Orange when he threatened to quit the band.
"I think it would be nice to get up on stage and do a couple of numbers with them now that I'm back on the scene," he told Metro.
"It would be great to get my new single 'Gotta Be Somebody' out there. I'd love to do a one-off performance or a few performances with them. We'll see if they'll consider it."
He continued: "Joining Take that would have been fantastic and a great opportunity for me but I always would have felt that Take That is Take That with Jason.
"I don't think I would have joined, not because I don't love their stuff - I absolutely do - but I just feel if it's going to be Take That it needs to be the five original members."
'Gotta Be Somebody' is out on November 7. The album, Obsession, follows on November 15.
