74-year-old Eavis recently celebrated 40 years of running Glastonbury, although his daughter Emily Eavis has assisted in running the festival since 2000.
"Maybe I've got another ten years possible left in me," Eavis told BBC Newsbeat. "Emily will be in a good place to take on the show eventually."
Eavis also confirmed that he had invited U2 back to headline in 2011 after they were forced to pull out of performing this year, although he didn't confirm whether or not the band had accepted the offer.
Tickets for the 2011 Glastonbury Festival are available to purchase from 9am today.
