After becoming available to purchase both online and via telephone from 9am this morning, the festival's official website has confirmed that they have now sold out.
"We've very sorry to those of you who didn't get tickets, and acknowledge there were some issues with the website/phoneline due to the sheer volume of people trying to get through," the organisers announced following reports of problems with the booking system.
The website also confirmed that tickets sold out around eight hours more quickly than they did for last year's festival.
Festival organiser Michael Eavis recently announced that he hopes to continue running the festival for at least another ten years, and claimed he will reveal the three headliners for next year's festival once tickets have sold out.
Glastonbury Festival 2011 will take place over the weekend of June 24 2011.
