MTV News reports that the rapper picked up awards for 'Rookie of the Year' and 'People's Champ', as well as the 'Made You Look' award in recognition of her unorthodox style.
"I'm paving the way for girls," Minaj said in her acceptance speech. "I wanna thank all the girls of hip-hop."
Other winners at the ceremony included Jay-Z who won 'Perfect Combo', 'CD of the Year', and 'Best Live Performer', as well as Salt-N-Pepa, who were honoured with the 'I Am Hip-Hop' Award.
