Last month, it was announced that the famous music venue on Oxford Street is facing closure as a result of increasing running costs.
The club is known for having helped launch the careers of countless bands, including the Sex Pistols, The Jam and Oasis.
Tony Morrison, who is leading an attempt to rescue the 100 Club, told NME that around £500,000 was needed by mid-November to save the venue.
He added: "It's a long uphill battle but we are passionate about this and are appealing to anyone who wishes to be involved to pledge a donation.
"Who knows? There might be a major star out there who will donate a large sum to give something back."
Last week, The Clash guitarist Mick Jones pledged his support for the club, saying that he will help to keep it open in any way he can.
