Kaiser Chiefs gutted over losing award

Leeds-based band Kaiser Chiefs were gutted at not winning their home city's Rock Band of the Year award.
The band that gave us I Predict a Riot were left red-faced after up and coming band ¡Forward Russia! beat them to the coveted award. It had long been presumed that because of the band's enormous success in 2005, including their role as the opening act at the Live 8 concert in Florida, that the award would go to them.
"We were gutted at being snubbed for Rock Band Of The Year at the Leeds Music Awards," said Rick Wilson, the band's lead singer. "Nick (Hodgson, drummer) and Peanut (Nick Baines, the band's keyboardist) turned up thinking we were a dead cert to win and then it bloody went to ¡Forward Russia!
"I don't hold grudges and have nothing against the people of Leeds but we did really well last year and a pat on the back would have been nice."
