Mason made the claim after discussing whether the band would consider further reunions after a special performance at Live 8 back in 2005.
"I think it would be a very nice way for a band to gently move towards retirement by doing shows absolutely for charity rather than for more income," Mason told the BBC.
"That's what I'd like, and I think the others might well see eye to eye," he continued.
Live 8 marks that last time the group performed together as a whole, although Roger Waters and David Gilmour recently performed together in a one-off concert for the Hoping Foundation.
Original Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright died of cancer in 2008, while former vocalist Syd Barrett died in 2006 after leaving the band in 1968.
