The singer, who fronts the band of the same name, admitted that she has been offered the chance to collaborate with several hip-hop stars in the past but is "scared" of working with new people.
"I'm too scared. They'll find me out. It's like The Wizard of Oz. They'll find out there's nothing there," she told Billboard.
"As for collaborations, I'm collaborating with the band and do what we do. I see myself as a member of this band who does these songs that we write."
Earlier this year, rapper Drake revealed that Sade had turned down his offer of a duet.
He admitted: "Her brand is always protected. That's why, other people's visuals, other people's songs, stepping outside your zone can jeopardise your brand. It can bring you down as opposed to bring you up."
The group released their first album in a decade, Soldier Of Love, earlier this year.
