The singer-songwriter was advised to do so after suffering from acid reflux, which had began to damage her vocal cords.
"I've given up drinking on the advice of a vocal doctor I saw recently in America," Music News quotes Goulding as saying. "He's advised Madonna, Mariah Carey, Jon Bon Jovi, you name them, he's sorted them out."
It is claimed that Goulding has also been advised to avoid smoking and chewing gum.
Goulding won the Critics' Choice at this year's Brit Awards following the release of her debut album Lights.
