Speaking to The AP, Willow said that joining her parents Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith while they worked played a major role in jumpstarting her career in show business.
"I would go on tour with them and watch them and I'd be like, 'Oh my gosh, that's what I wanna do'," she said.
Her parents' example also led the 9-year-old to begin recording music now rather than when she reaches her teenage years.
She explained: "I wanted to make a difference now, [and] because I wanted to be big and famous like my mommy and daddy and help people."
The 'Whip My Hair' singer concluded by sharing some advice that Will and Jade gave her when she decided to become a musician.
"They said never be afraid to be yourself, even when you're in the spotlight."
Willow previously declared that she plans to dress as herself for Halloween.
