In a post on their official website, the band explained that they would be unable to perform due to an illness afflicting frontman James Dean Bradfield.
Bradfield said: "I would like to personally apologise for the situation tonight.
"Nothing makes us feel worse than having to postpone a show, especially since we always receive a great reaction in Birmingham. The audience there have always been loyal to us. Again, sincere apologies for this."
The concert has been rescheduled for Tuesday, December 14. Tickets will remain valid for the new show and refunds are also available from point of purchase.
Manic Street Preachers are currently touring their tenth studio album Postcards From A Young Man.
