Damon Albarn has admitted that he was upset that the latest Gorillaz album lost out to Boyzone at the top of the album charts.

Plastic Beach peaked in second place on the LP charts, while Boyzone's Brother reached the top spot.

Albarn told MTV: "I was a bit f**king gutted that Plastic Beach only got to two in America. And I was obviously a bit gutted that it only got to two in England. Against f**king Boyzone!"

He quipped: "But at the end of the day it's okay. I've had a lot of successful number twos over the years."

Gorillaz release new single 'Doncamatic (All Played Out)' on November 22.
