Tickets for the 20-date tour went on sale today, but the huge demand caused ticket websites and phone lines to crash.
SJM Concerts managing director Simon Moran told BBC News: "We coped with it in the best way possible."
In addition, Ticketmaster apologised for the "frustrating delays" that fans had faced trying to secure tickets.
A record one million tickets were sold for the 2011 dates.
In a statement, Take That said: "To sell one million tickets in a day is mind-blowing and we think we'll be in shock for a few days.
"We want to thank everyone who has bought tickets today and look forward to seeing them next year."
