The group's last studio album was 2008's Out Of Control and their last live performance was a slot supporting Coldplay with Jay-Z at Wembley Stadium last September.
Asked if she had dragged her heels over a reunion, Coyle told Heat: "I would say that's completely untrue. Nobody has come to me and asked me about getting back together, and it's hardly a reunion anyway.
"[Production team] Xenomania, who wrote all the Girls Aloud stuff, are no longer in existence in the same way. There was a massive team around Girls Aloud, not just us five.
"And Cheryl is doing her music, so it would be almost impossible for her to do a solo and a Girls Aloud one. But how it's my fault is beyond me."
Coyle added: "If we did a a reunion show or were seeing each other to do something new, it would be a really good laugh."
Quizzed on whether too much had changed between the girls, Coyle responded: "No. I think that can be an excuse a lot of the time. Today is a new day and to me there hasn't been too much that went down. I don't know if anything bad has gone down. Nobody has murdered anybody's family or anything."
Coyle added that she did not care about some of the band going out without her, explaining: "What can you do? Am I going to sit and cry about it? 'Oh my god, I wasn't invited!'. No. Do your own thing, enjoy yourself, you know?"
