The Daily Star reports that the singer admitted that 'Mercy On Me' is his "most personal" song yet.
"Kate and Pete are clearly still mad about each other, they will always see themselves as a couple," relationship expert Judi James told the paper.
She described them as an Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton "of modern times".
"They are sending out tentacles to each other through their books and music and it's clear that they can't let it drop," she said. "These are powerful messages and it would not surprise me at all if they got back together and married just like Elizabeth and Richard."
Lyrics from the track - included on Andre's new album Accelerate - include: "A fairy tale that fell apart / I'm sorry but my heart's still in two halves."
He also sings: "Ever since the day our eyes met / I had made a promise / To be there forever more," and, "Dear Lord have mercy on me / 'Cos I can’t forgive the things that happened yesterday."
Last week it was revealed that Price has dedicated her new autobiography to Andre, saying that she hopes he finds "the happiness [he] has always been searching for".
