Marilyn Manson guitarist/bassist Jeordie White, aka Twiggy Ramirez, has confirmed that the group's new album has almost been completed.

Speaking to The Blairing Out with Eric Blair Show backstage at the Dimebash benefit gig, Ramirez revealed that progress had been made on the follow-up to last year's The High End Of Low, the guitarist's first with the band since 2000's Holy Wood.

Ramirez said: "We got a new album. It's almost done, it'll probably be out next year. It's fantastic, it's our best record yet I think. I mean, everyone always says that but I think this is our best work so far."

Asked if the record harked back to their 1998 commercial breakthrough Mechanical Animals, he added: "It's a little more of a punk rock Mechanical Animals. Without sounding too pretentious - I don't even know what that means! I don't want to speak for Manson, but it's definitely great."

Ramirez added that while his priorities are with Marilyn Manson for the foreseeable future, he could still potentially perform one or two songs on tour with the recently-reformed A Perfect Circle.
