The pop-punk band were rumoured to have almost split up during recording for their third album Brand New Eyes, but instead used the process as a form of therapy to enable them to stay together.
"We'd get into arguments and he'd be like, 'Why can't you write in front of me? It shouldn't be that big of a deal, you know me'," Williams explained to The Guardian about her relationship with ex-boyfriend and fellow Paramore member Josh Farro.
The singer also revealed that during recording for the song 'Ignorance', the group had been forced to confront a lot of their issues.
"That song saved our band," Williams added.
Paramore begin their UK and Ireland tour tonight with a concert in Dublin.
