The singer told The Sun that he "hated" having the cameras follow the recording of their new album Progress for Take That: Look Back, Don't Stare.
"I wanted to enjoy Rob," he said. "I wanted to enjoy the reunion privately. I didn't want me or any of us to be acting differently when there's cameras on."
He added: "I didn't want it to be captured on cameras. But it was. Gutted."
The documentary will be broadcast on Saturday night at 9.30pm on ITV1.
