Brit Awards organisers confirm revamp

As previously announced, the 2011 prizes will be handed out on February 15 at The O2 in London,
The 'Outstanding Contribution' award - most recently won by Robbie Williams - has been dropped. The newly-named 'MasterCard British Album of the Year' has now been designated the major award of the night and climax of show.
There will be seven British awards; 'Best Male', 'Best Female', 'Best Breakthrough', 'Best Single' , 'Best Group', 'Critics' Choice' and the aforementioned 'MasterCard British Album of the Year'.
The five international awards are 'Best Male', 'Best Female', 'Best Breakthrough', 'Best Album' and 'Best Group'.
The awards trophy will be redesigned by Vivienne Westwood. Future trophies will be restyled every year by other British artists.
Nominations will be announced on January 13, 2011 at IndigO2 and the launch event screened the following day on ITV2 at 8pm.
