The 'Teardrops On My Guitar' singer, 20, picked up the prize at the 58th annual ceremony last night, making her the youngest person in the organisation's history to scoop the honour.
She was recognised for her tracks 'Fifteen', 'White Horse' and 'You Belong With Me', as well as 'Best Days Of Your Life' which was recorded by Kellie Pickler.
Swift, who attended the event at BMI's Music Row offices, also became the only songwriter to scoop the 'Country Song Of The Year' award for the third consecutive year after she was honoured for her track 'You Belong With Me', which she co-wrote with Liz Rose.
Other awards that were handed out included the 'BMI Icon' prize to Bill Sherill, who was honoured in a special performance by a group of musicians including Ronnie Dunn, George Strait, Martina McBride and Faith Hill.
