In an interview with PopEater, the singer said that the "catchy" name represents her philosophy in life towards music and consumerism.
"For me, it symbolises a lot of things. It symbolises the kind of artist that I am. I'm in pop music, but I'm not gimmicky like a lot of pop artists," she explained.
"I strip it back and keep it real, that's the kind of person I am. I don't want to be on a pedestal, I want to connect with people."
She continued: "We've all been in that situation where all the stuff [we have] is so important. Where you've got to have things, else you're not a complete person.
"The climate that we're in now is one where people want to have meaning that defines who they are and not have it be about things like what you earn. Real things."
Strip Me will hit stores on December 7.
