Progress, along with Rihanna's newest release Loud, knock last week's number one Bon Jovi into third place.
Bruce Springsteen and the Kings of Leon round off the top five, with the former scoring a new entry at number four.
Elsewhere in the top ten, Pink's Greatest Hits collection debuts at number eight.
X Factor winner Shayne Ward narrowly misses out on a top ten placing as his third LP Obsession lands at number 11.
Meanwhile, the Glee cast's Glee - The Music: Best of Series 1 charts at number 34.
