The Kooks 'may use samples and beats'

The frontman told BBC Newsbeat that the group would remain true to their "roots" despite their possible experimentation on the follow-up to 2008's Konk.
Pritchard said: "We're trying to think what direction to go in. That's the important thing for us. We have many different ways we could go. The third album's quite a defining point and it has to be a statement of where we're going as a band.
"There will be element on this album where we haven't gone to before. Possibly using samples and beats, but not too far away. We'll keep our roots. I'm not about super-techno or anything. More like loops of cool beats."
He added that the band have written a number of songs and will select 10-12 for inclusion on the new album when they return to the studio in January.
