The album has been remastered by the group together with original producer Andrew Weatherall and My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields. It will go on sale on March 27, 2011.
A 4CD + vinyl collector's edition boxset features remixes, a Live In LA, 1991 disc and the remastered Dixie-Narco EP. It will also include a 50-page book, a half-hour "making of" documentary DVD, a T-shirt, 5 x 7" art cards and a 12" slipmat.
Of the decision to get Shields on board with the release, Gillespie told NME: "He's just really good with sound and frequencies, we thought it was a fun thing to do.
"Kevin, [guitarist] Andrew [Innes] and myself went down to the mastering room. Kevin's the one person in the world that all remastering engineers would hate to see walking into the studio, when we walked in the guy nearly had a f**king heart attack!"
The band are currently performing all the tracks from Screamadelica in concert at a series of anniversary shows.
