'X Factor' finalists top Irish chart

The X Factor finalists have stormed to number one in this week's Irish single's chart with their annual charity track.

The cover of 'Heroes' in aid of Help For Heroes has repeated the success of 2008 and 2009 tracks 'Hero' and 'You Are Not Alone'. The finalists' success ends Rihanna's reign on top as she is knocked down one spot to number two.

Cee Lo Green benefits from Glee's cover of 'Forget You' as it returns to the top ten with a five-place climb to number six. The cast's mash-up of 'Singing In The Rain' and 'Umbrella' also proves a hit as it leaps 17 spots to number ten.

Olly Murs is this week's second-highest new entry with his second single 'Thinking Of Me' debuting at number 15.

This week's chart also sees the first Christmas song return to the top 40. The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl's 'Fairytale of New York' sits at number 36.
