The .NUXX mix of 'Born Slippy' reached number two in the UK singles charts in 1996 after it featured over the final scenes in Danny Boyle's Trainspotting.
Asked if he resented being known mainly for that track by the mainstream, Hyde told DS: "No, not at all - it's fantastic that we're known for anything. It's great that we're known for something in the mainstream.
"It's a joy and we're really grateful that we've got tunes like 'Born Slippy'... it's fantastic. It's always a joy - we played it here in Amsterdam and people are smiling and happy and I think 'Yeah, what a great job!'"
Asked if the band, who are currently touring the UK, would always keep tracks like 'Born Slippy' and 'Rez'/'Cowgirl' in their live set, Hyde said: "Until such time that we completely reinvent the group again as we did at the beginning of the '90s.
"There's no reason to stop playing that material because it's part of our legacy. It's part of what people come to see - they come to see things that are familiar as well as hearing tunes that are new and fresh."
