Rock band The Editors have announced plans to release a box set containing a complete collection of their recordings.

Editors: The Complete Collection was announced by frontman Tom Smith via the band's official website.

"We've raided the vaults," Smith posted. "We've searched through old CD-Rs, cassettes and photo albums and gathered it all together.

"We'd like you to have this music on any and every format we can produce and also share some old photos and memories of the last six years in a volume that you can keep forever," he added.

The collection will contain all the band's official recordings, B-sides and a variety of previously unreleased material, across a number of formats including CD, vinyl and downloads.

The announcement also revealed that the first 200 box sets to be purchased would receive a special additional prize directly from the group.

Editors: The Complete Collection can be preordered through the band's official website from December 2, and is expected to be released in February 2011.
