The Kaiser Chiefs have thanked the Ordinary Boys' Preston for helping them break into the industry.
The Kaiser Chiefs, who are nominated for five Brit Awards, have revealed that it was the star of Celebrity Big Brother that initially convinced his record label to sign them.
Ricky Wilson told The Sun: "It was Preston who convinced his boss at the B-Unique label to sign us. Otherwise we might still be unheard of. He went out of his way to help us. He pestered and pestered on our behalf because he had faith in us.”
He even appreciated the singer's time in the Big Brother house: "He is a good friend of mine. I thought he was mental to go on BB. But two days in I realised he had made the best decision of his life. He came across really well.”
Wilson also admits that if the Kaiser Chiefs do win any awards he will publicly thank Preston for everything he's done to help the band: "I can’t thank him enough – and I’ll say so from the stage if I get the chance."
