The Doors singer - who died in Paris in 1971 - was convicted of the charge after allegedly exposing himself to a crowd during a Miami concert in 1969. However, he passed away before he could serve jail time.
The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger told The AP: "Nobody would like to have that charge hanging over their head, even if they are dead. I'm sure his family would be happy to see that go, especially since it never happened."
Florida governor Charlie Crist has been considering the pardon since a petition was put forward by fans in 2007.
