Coldplay quash break-up rumours
Published Friday, Feb 17 2006, 23:50 GMT | By Dave West

An official announcement said the band will be staying together despite comments made by singer Chris Martin in his Brits acceptance speech.
He told the audience "we won't see you for a long time" when picking up the best British album title. Shares in EMI fell by 1.58% to 249p on Thursday afternoon.
But a spokesman for the band said Coldplay were "not quitting" and would be starting work on new material soon. "Coldplay are on the road until July, when their 16-month X&Y World Tour ends in Japan," he said. "They will then continue working on new material."
