Natalie Gauci has revealed that she is more confident than she used to be having formed new act Tune In Tokyo.

The singer, who shot to fame when she won reality show Australian Idol in 2007, said that she is relaunching herself in the dance music industry after teaming up with producer Paul Brandoli.

Gauci told The Daily Telegraph that she developed her new look and sound after hanging out in Melbourne's gay dance clubs with her musician husband Hamish Cowan.

She said: "That's where I came out of my shell. I didn't have anyone telling me what to do. Tune In Tokyo is just one part of what I want to do. We got a lot of feedback straight away, which was great because it gave me confidence about the project."
