The American Idol runner-up said that Farmer's Daughter took longer to record than a typical record as she felt it was important to take her time and create a collection of songs that would best represent who she is as a person.
"There were lots of sessions, but nothing much really came of them. You don't go all the way on the first date," she told USA Today.
"The majority of this album is me. It's my story. It's me to the core. I'm very happy about that."
Farmer's Daughter will hit shelves on December 14.
