NME reports that the veteran musicians will play at the Knebworth Park event on July 8, 2011 alongside Anthrax, Slayer and Megadeth. The lineup is being billed as the 'Big 4' tour, in reference to the bands’ collective popularity in the metal genre.
Slayer’s Kerry King said of the announcement: "Now England is in line to be devastated by this heavy metal powerhouse! Can’t f**king wait!!!"
The tour was attended by over 500,000 people last summer, although this event will be the first chance to see the bands perform together in the UK.
Biffy Clyro and Slipknot have previously been confirmed as headliners for the festival, which takes place from July 8 to July 10.
