PA reports that the ex-Beatle will play a lunchtime gig at the London venue which hosted famous punk bands such as the Sex Pistols, The Clash and The Damned in the 1970s.
"I've played all sorts of different venues over the years and this kind of show presents a different kind of challenge to performing in a stadium," he said.
The future of the venue is under threat as rent for the club, which is located on Oxford Street, has rocketed in recent months.
Tickets are to go on sale tomorrow at 10am and will cost £60 with a maximum of two tickets per person.
McCartney is due to play London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo on December 18 and Liverpool’s O2 Academy on December 20.
