Coldplay paid £650k for New Year's gig?

Coldplay have secured a lucrative sum for headlining at the opening of a US hotel on New Year's Eve, a report claims.

Chris Martin and bandmates will be paid £650,000 to top the bill at the Cosmopolitan this Friday night, claims The Sun.

Martin's wife will also sing at the event - which is thought to hold an audience of 2,500 - alongside famous couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

Meanwhile, Rihanna is apparently earning £160,000 to host a modest party at a Las Vegas hotel, and DJ Tiesto will collect £130,000 for performing at a club in Miami.
