The X Factor winner told fans not to let remarks about his career annoy them. Writing on Twitter, McElderry stated that he would "prove" that he can be a successful recording artist.
"Guys don't get stressed about haters," he said. "I don't they just help me to work even harder to prove them wrong! (sic)"
Retweeting a message which suggested that the comments are made out of jealousy, the 'Ambitions' singer added: "you said it haha!!"
SyCo has denied tabloid reports from last weekend that McElderry has been dropped by the label following the disappointing chart performance of his second single 'Someone Wake Me Up'.
