According to The Sun, the musician will play an aspiring wrestler in Walk Like A Panther, set in 1970s Yorkshire.
A source told the newspaper: "For anyone who sat with their family on a Saturday and watched the old grannies attacking the wrestlers, this series is going to tickle you.
“The cast has been assembled thanks to that nostalgia and the love of gritty northern humour."
TV chef Marco Pierre White has also been tipped to make a cameo appearance.
The show, which has yet to secure a broadcaster, stars This Is England '86 actor Stephen Graham.
Meighan's bandmate Serge Pizzorno recently said that he hopes the next Kasabian album will have the same impact as Radiohead's OK Computer.
